Press briefing conducted focusing on the upcoming Nile Day Celebration.
Feb 22nd, 2025 (MoWE). Press briefing focusing on the upcoming 19th Nile Day Celebration conducted at the Ministry of Water and Energy.
The briefing was made by H.E. Dr. Ing. Habatamu Itefa, Minister of the Ministry of Water and Energy, H.E. Dr. Florence Grace Adongo, Executive Director of Nile Basin Initiative and Dr. Callist Tindimugaya, Chair of Technical Advisory Committee.
H.E. Dr. Ing. Habtamu Itefa Stated that this year’s Nile Day will be celebrated on the 22th of February with the theme “Strengthening Nile Cooperation for Resilience and Shared Prosperity” aimed at deliberating on what has been achieved through the years went by and what can be done to enhance cooperation for the benefit of all riparian countries.
H.E. Dr. Florence Grace, on her part said that the day is when the member countries come to reiterate their commitment for cooperation, to reflect on the benefits and discuss on challenges.
Dr. Callist Tindimugaya explained about what has been done for years on cooperation.
The 19th Nile Day will be celebrated on the 22nd of February 2025 at the Science Museum in the attendance of high government officials of Ethiopia, Water Ministers from the riparian countries and ambassadors. Marching band procession and exhibition are parts of the celebration.
