The Minister of Water and Energy, His Excellency Dr. Ing. Habtamu Ittefa, has arrived in Cape Town to participate in the AU AIP Water Investment Summit, a follow-up gathering of the 34th African Union Leaders Summit.
13 August 2025 (MoWE) His Excellency Dr. Ing. Habtamu Ittefa, Minister of Water and Energy, is participating at the AU AIP Africa Water Investment Summit 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa. The summit, organized by the African Union and hosted by the Government of South Africa, follows the decisions made during the 34th African Union Summit.
The summit aims to address the $30 billion annual investment gap of Sustainable Development Goal 6 and is attended by Heads of States, Sector Minsters, DPs, financing organizations, the private sector, and beyond.
Over the next three days, the conference will cover a diverse array of significant topics.
H.E. the Minister is set to engage in several high-level forums to showcase Ethiopia's Successful experiences and contributions in the water sector. He will also hold bilateral discussions with development partners and like-minded organizations that have strong ties with Ethiopia.
